SlabGasket, you ROCK!

SlabGasket Driveway Expansion Joint Replacement

August 3, 2012

Dear SlabGasket:

I recently finished installing SlabGasket in my back yard patio. I’m so very pleased with the results and how it looks, that I had to communicate my complete satisfaction in written form!

SlabGasket is easy to install, maintain, and looks great! You made an ardous chore more enjoyable and less stressful; the hardest part of the project is the removal of the rotted wood. SlabGasket, you ROCK!

I’m looking forward to my next SlabGasket project with a smile on my face!

Kindest Regards,

James

Camarillo, CA

Will SlabGasket work between pool deck and coping?

Chris, I have been out of town and I don’t see where your question was answered, so . . .

Sometimes it will.

BUT – Most of the time the gap between the pool coping and pool deck is not a uniform gap in width OR depth where SlabGasket could work. You would have to pull some of the goop out and look to see. You wouldn’t want to grind out the coping, but the deck can be ground out with a concrete blade to make SlabGasket work, and I have done it on both residential and community pools, but the labor time can last days and lots of concrete blades (not cheap). If SlabGasket is not an option, you might consider a product called Crack-stix. Google that and see if that product might work better for your application. As I recall, it requires a torch to melt into the joint.

Another new size! 1″

Continuing our quest to offer a full line of widths, SlabGasket now has 1″! We have had numerous inquiries to get us to offer a one inch width. Testing has begun on the new die we received this past week. A little more tweaking and the 1″ size will be ready! As an installer myself, I have had numerous instances where the 7/8″ width was too loose, but the 1-1/8″ was too large. Up to now, I have been grinding out concrete to be able to fit the 1-1/8″ size to the gap. This is really not all that difficult when using a diamond concrete blade, but this will make installations much easier.

Dealers find easy income stream as supplement!

NO UP FRONT COST! NO INVENTORY REQUIREMENT! PURCHASE BY THE FOOT!

SlabGasket dealers enjoy a way to add $$$ to their main business by selling/installing SlabGasket. There is no cost whatever to becoming a SlabGasket dealer. There is no requirement ever to purchase any inventory. You may at some point decide to maintain some inventory, but with all the sizes and two colors we offer, we recommend purchasing what you need for each job. SlabGasket Driveway Expansion Joint Replacement

George;
I think I’ve finally found a solution. Thanks.

I’ve been trying for some years now to deal with the construction gaps between garage slabs and driveway slabs after the original fiber expansion fillers decayed. I tried various liquid fillers which, according to the manufacturers’ claims, would solve the drainage and future erosion problems. None of them lasted more than one winter, and all were messy. I just installed slabgasket in a couple of different widths for different sized construction gaps, and I have to tell you that the product is great – it installed easily and fit quite tightly. The rainwater that once drained through the gaps and under the slabs now runs off harmlessly. From the looks of the gasket, it should last quite a few years...

Concrete Overlays and Spray On Decking – WOW!

SlabGasket Driveway Expansion Joint Replacement

Folks, I have seen some beautiful concrete overlays and sprayed on decking. I just had an inquiry from “Ryan”, who was asking about the use of SlabGasket in conjuction with the above. His question is “I wanted to find out if this product could be used with some of the concrete overlay or spray on decking used around pools? Would those coatings be put on first and then the slabgasket or could you use the slabgasket then put down the coating so there could be one uniform surface?”

This is a good question, and most of us need to ask more questions when we hire a contractor to do any home repair or remodeling job. How many times do we have to settle for less than we expected? I answered Ryan this way:

Ryan, thank you for your interest in SlabGasket. Here are my experiences so far...

New SlabGasket Expansion Joint Replacement Products available now!

SlabGasket Driveway Expansion Joint Replacement

SlabGasket Expansion Joint Replacement Products now include two new sizes in both gray and almond. One of them is 5/8″ wide at the top and the other is 1/2″ wide at the top, but shorter than our original 1/2″ version.  The shape is very short, about 1″ tall. These sizes are too narrow to have an air space through the center, and won’t give or collapse any when installing. Talk about a tight fit! You will find a sample of each in our current sample pack.
